Halloween Candy—initial run?

We have had 3 trick or treaters in the last 17 years. The joys of country living.

Full size bars. Baby Ruths and Butterfingers. Our neighborhood is as safe as anywhere on this planet, so each year I expect the little rat basterds to be out in force, but covid was a sever blow to many joyous and simple forms of fun. I always secretly hope to run out of candy each year and to have to fall back on cash (singles)!

Traditionally, Halloween hasn't been something most people grew up with here. It's only in the last 10 years or so that it has really gained traction and commercialisation.

My daughter has already got a costume for our dog; Jemima.

I found out our Kroger store will have all Halloween candy 40% off Friday through Sunday. Woohoo!!!!!!!

My partner's staff at work come into her office all day, sit in the spare chairs, and have some candy while they air "issues". Her dept is one of the smoothest running in the place. Hard to be angry munching on gummy worms!

So I need to restock her candy stash Friday. Then transition into Christmas candy, eventually Valentines Day, then Easter, then the dreaded wasteland until fall again.

Funny guy! At ease with the exclamation marks.

I bought my first big bag months ago and stuck it in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator because a lot of noise was being made about supplies of Halloween candy. To keep out of the big bag I bought a couple smaller bags of what I considered "specialty" candy so that I will keep away from the big bag I bought for Halloween night. It's a real balancing act between good candy and my diabetes.

Study the medicine you're taking! The cure can be worse than the disease! Huge money envolved!

The eternal question. Do I get something I like in case I'm stuck with it, or something I don't like in case I'm stuck with it. Solved it last year by dumping the bowl in the last kids sack.

Get the kind you like and use restraint as you dispose of the left overs. Easier said than done.
