Rusty got it right! I think they're trying to poke fun at Randy Johnson's infamous pitch against San Francisco in a spring training game when he plugged a bird midair. Thus the lovely lady with feathers and little blood splotches. Yep. A 102 mph fast ball will do it every time.

I don't decorate for Halloween. However two years ago we replaced our deck. Underneath it I laid out a full sized skeleton that I dressed in clothes from the 2nd hand store. I hope the next person that replaces the deck has a good ticker.
Earlier today the 4-H riding club had their party.
Anna won best costume. A storm cloud.

The 1991 Minnesota was also true here in northern Iowa. My daughter and I were remembering that this past weekend. Had a solid coating of ice on top of the snow too.

Yes we had the also had the freezing ice with the snow here in SE MN. It took down some of the large cross country power lines in the area. A friend of mine lost power to his farm for over a week. Had to rotate his generator between his barn, house, and parents house to keep things from freezing. It remained cold from that day on it was winter was locked in.
Amid all the bandits seen on Ring cameras taking everything they could put into their pillowcases, there was this that made my day.

“I want to share some good that happened last night during trick or treating. I hope it puts a smile on your face..... The last few years we haven't had many trick or treaters come by. Since we always have lots of leftover candy, I bought a smaller bag with about 60 candy bars. Apparently, it was not enough this year. I saw a group of kids approaching our house. When two of them came to the door, I only had two pieces left. I told them to wait a minute so I could grab another bag of candy. (I had a bag of Kit Kats I was going to bring to our daughter in college). However, the boys promptly dug into their bags and pulled out their own candy and put it in the bucket. I was so surprised and told them that they didn't need to do that. However, they simply said, "Happy Halloween" and walked away. By that point, the next group of kids came up and had seen what the others had done. They too reached in their bags and pulled out more candy and put it in the bucket. I tried to stop them, but they didn't listen. In the end, seven children gave their own candy so that others could have some.... I was so surprised that it made me emotional. There are some amazing children out there who have been raised by some amazing parents! Thank you! I hope that this warmed your heart as much as it warmed mine.... Thanks for listening!”

I always look forward to Halloween and seeing all the kids and parents come by. Judging by the amount of candy I had left, there were about 250 kids who stopped by.
Because of my knee issues, instead of staying inside and getting up to answer the door 75 times, I get a chair and sit outside to hand out the candy. Well this year I repeated what I did last year. Instead of sitting on the front porch, I opened the garage door and handed out the candy while sitting between the Batmobiles. What could be better for Halloween?

I’ve never had a trick or treater at my house, until this year. I live on a rural road with Amish and Mennonite neighbors. They’re not really into Halloween. I mentioned this talking with our Chief of Police and he thought it was terrible I never had any trick or treaters. Last night there was a knock on the door and there was the Chief saying trick or treat. I had some large candy bars, so I gave them to him to take back to the station. He said I can expect the whole department to stop by next year. I suggested that they should dress as ‘80s rock group “The Police” next year.
Zilch, not a one.
Local parks and businesses will arrange for Halloweeners to circulate amongst parked vehicles where parents hand out treats. "Trunk or Treat"
I miss the socialization between neighbors, meeting folks from a few streets over and some of the moms in costume were the treat for my eyes.

None here though I live in a subdivision. It is 5 + miles from town and 3-6 acre lots, but around here it's a subdivision.
