Maybe go buy a centerpoint from wally world for the same or less money and atleast be able to return it if it breaks.

I really like my CenterPoint 3-9x42..I had it on my Sport. Then put my 8-32x42 on my Sport. Then went back and then switched back for good. I thought I wanted a 6-24x50 for my Sport and actually used one the other day mounted on a friends DPMS and I couldnt tell any difference other than it didnt have as much magnification. So I convinced myself that I am staying where I am at with the 8-32x42.
I know confusing huh? ;)

Hammers? Another no-name Chinese optic. You get what you pay for. I wouldn't take it even if it were free.

So what 8-32x42 scope did you get? What rings are you using?

I hear that. Years ago I took a chance on a NCStar scope. I new I was taking a chance but if it worked it was just what I was looking for. Anyway that darn thing worked great. Still on the rifle now. Sometimes ya get lucky. I know exactly what your sayin though. I used to say all the time I can't afford to buy cheap. LOL I have heard pretty good reports on the Hammer though.

I am using actually the set of CenterPoint rings with a 1/2inch riser by FAA Corp

But what scope is the 8-32?

It is an Optronics Buckridge Horizon

Amazon.com: Buck Ridge™ Horizon 8 - 32x42 mm Scope Black Matte: Sports & Outdoors

My nephew gave it to me when he figured out that he didnt really know how to use it. I gave him a tasco 3-9 in exchange.
The Optics are clear and bright, it doesnt have the illuminated reticles like some of my other scopes but I find them distracting and dont use them anyway. it has adjustment for parallax but I have found it to not need adjusting. Zeiss now owns the Optronics line of scopes, so I really dont know anymore about them.

thumbs, I have 3 different tasco's one is the original that came on my 1981 Marlin model 60 22lr...I have no qualms about a tasco scope they have improved their products over the years so I continue to purchase them just because they are not too expensive and so far (knock on wood) havent given me any problems they hold zero and work well. I watch some people in 3 gun competition with acogs and such just shove their rifles in a barrel, I dont have the money to replace them when accidents happen. So I stay in my middle price range scopes these days. Also I have been looking at that particular scope for my Sport that one or the Bushnell both available on the bay.

As you know my Sport is stock with stock sights. Any idea as to mounts for the thing? How high does it have to be mounted to work with the front sight??

I would! My son is bugging me about a scope for an airsoft rifle. The NC-Star holographic sight we bought for his .22lr was replaced with a Bushnell TRS-25 and the NC-star has been moved to his airsoft sub machine gun. Works great on that!

I find that you need a riser and tall mounts for the right eyesight alignment. You can mount it right on the rail with tall mounts but it hard to get the right sight picture. NcStar makes some, I really like the ones by FAACorp, both available on ebay if you need some links let me know. I am sure some of the mainstream manufacturers make some really nice ones also. As far as with the front sight, you focal plane is so far down range that you never even see it. I ran mine with the standard front sights for a long time. with the 8x32 the front sight wouldnt let me mount the really long scope far enough forward, but anything less than that there is no problems. Trust me the front sight isnt a problem at all.

Funny how you posted this now. I was checkin out what I have in stock for a scope. My most powerful is about 12x40 Swift, great scope. Anyway I held it up on the Sport and found the same thing. The front sight really isn't a problem. I was kinda surprised. I was wondering what mount I would need for it though. I think I would like a quick release so I could use the iron sights if I wanted to.

I looked at the Centerpoint at WalMart but for a few bucks more I could get the Tasco 10x24x42 or something close to that. Like was said before with the Centerpoint I can return it with no hassles.

Anyway what mounts will work with a Swift 40mm app?
