I just ran across your thread and see you have already figured out you have a S&W Model104 Maximum Security set of cuffs. They used a specially designed key and keyhole bushing that makes them more pick resistant.
They are constructed of heat treated carbon steel and available in satin nickel finish. The 104 has a slot lock system, a self-locking single lock and a manual double lock that is accessible from both sides. They weigh 10 oz.
They also make a Model 104P, same as the 104 except instead of a slot lock system, these have a self-locking single lock and a manual push-pin double lock system.

picking the lock with an improvised key is the hard way...I have seen videos of inmates slipping out of cuffs so fast it is scary....and they did NOT use a key

Reading thru this thread I was suprised to find that S&W aluminum handcuffs are worth some money. I have a set I used to carry off duty. What is the interest in them? Low production numbers?
