Is the hand under spring tension in the trigger or does it simply travel up into the frame window being aligned thru its position from its 2 studs. Or does the short stud suppose to be under the flat spring that is in the trigger. What is the function of the spring in older guns? Inquiring minds whant to know.

Yes, the small pin needs to be under the spring. (flat spring for the old ones, coil spring arm on the post-wars). After practice, this is easily accomplished with a small precision screwdriver to lift the spring leg and push the hand pin under it in one motion.

Thanks it was easy. I put this gun together several times wondering why I had problems with the hand. Have you ever had that DUH! feeling? Appreciate the info.
