I currently carry a S&W M&P Shield 9mm 1.0 and am quite satisfied with it for EDC. I still have a hankering for a solid, well built .357 revolver and a pistol caliber carbine.

I've wanted a Ruger Security Six or Police Service Six for sometime now. They are really hard to come by. I'm not totally set on the Ruger, but if it becomes a "have to have", I will put out a "Want to Buy" in the online advertising locally. The right GP100 (4 inch half shroud barrel) would fit the bill also. Another revolver that has intrigued me is the new Colt King Cobra. But I'm waiting until the new wears off and they come down to a reasonable price.

As far as a PCC, I will wait until I pick up a revolver before make a choice. Still haven't determined if I want to go 9mm or .357.

What's on your wish list? Christmas is coming!

I am building an AR-45 but not really tied into Christmas. 8 or 8.5" barrel with the obligatory arm brace and will pair well with the Osprey 45 waiting for the stamp.

For a while there, sellers were trying to get $800 or more for clean 1980s 586s and 686s. By and large they failed and the market has come back to earth. I'd recommend either of those before the Ruger or new Colt.

Nothing really! Sold most of my accumulation in prep for retiring (last July). Have a couple of "special" customs for my grand daughters I'm giving them this summer.

I just got my Christmas gift to myself by selling two unused carry guns and picking up my first single action, a Ruger Blackhawk Flattop 44 SPL NIB.

So what I'll try to wrangle as gifts from other people are more reloading supplies to feed my 44s.

Get a Smith&Wesson model 60-8, which is a 5 shot .357 magnum.
38 high power ammo is what i like best. 20 rounds to a box.
For a snub, it is unbeatable.
Saved my butt in a hold-up as I was checking out.
Today, I am just too old, so I have to depend on the younger generation to step up and do the right thing in eliminating the perps.

I have a bid in on a milsurp pistol with a different operating system to most. Such weapons are a weakness of mine. We shall see what the next couple of days brings in terms of other bidders.

I have a 3" Wiley Clapp GP100 and after a spring swap, I absolutely love it.

I also have a Kimber K6S, and I have to say it is a very nice pistol. Loaded with 125gr Rem UMC 357s, it has become my pocket pistol of choice.

Soooooooooooo many things on my wishlist...*sigh*

I really want to get another PX4 Compact, particularly the Compact Carry. It's probably at the top of my list, but given my current circumstances, it's not going to happen anytime soon.

However, I have been wanting to get a good pocket .380 for quite some time, and that will probably be more do-able in the near future. Ruger LCP and Beretta Pico are at the top of my list, but I'd like to check out some other options, too, like the Kahr.

I'd also like to get a PCC in 9mm, but that's a distant goal. Most likely some kind of AR-style rifle, but the new Ruger is also very intriguing, particularly with it's take-down capability. I'd also consider a Beretta CX4 Storm*.

If I won the lottery...I'd love to get a Langdon LTT Elite Beretta 92, especially now that they've come out with a Compact version. I love my full-size 92FS, but it is a bit big for EDC (not impossible, but not exactly easy, either).

Of course, the 640ND is still my "grail" gun, so that's always on my wish list.

I've always wanted to get a good SA revolver for a fun gun, either a Colt SAA or S&W Schofield clone. But more practical guns are my priority.

* I have to admit, I like the idea of having all my semi-auto guns being Berettas.

I have a 3" Wiley Clapp GP100 and after a spring swap, I absolutely love it.

I bought a 3" GP100 for $399 plus all the etcs., one of the old ones with the wood insert grips. It had been well taken care of so I jumped on it. Whoever did what to the trigger knew what they were doing. I can't imagine any new, overpriced Colt being anywhere near it.

I have a 686 4" and a Rossi SS 1892 in 357. I've had a few Marlin 1894 357's that were used, but they were problematic!

Ivan

I like Marlin Camp 45 as they use 1911 mags and pair well with any 1911 or 1917!

I have a M59 auto loader and a Marlin Camp 9. Great combo because they not only share ammo, but also mags. I have other 9mm handguns as well.

I have a couple of 1911's, a 457, and a couple of other 45 autos, plus a 1917, and a HiPoint 45 acp carbine to go with them.

I have several .357 revolvers and a 20" Rossi M92 lever gun in .357 to go with them.

I also have several .44 magnums and a 20" Rossi M92 lever gun in .44 mag to go with them.

There is a lot to be said for having a handgun and a carbine that share ammo. It's a concept I really like.

None at this time that are really itchin to the point they need scratched.
Sig P365XL has been hanging around my brain somewhat for the last few months, but another O/U got in the way of that one for some time to come.

We have new local gun club that is getting up and running. Pistol and rifle ranges along with two trap houses. My safe is currently void of a real trap gun(I know, its not a handgun).....after a 40 year hiatus, A new BT99 may be in the works.

I like my Smith revolvers. You can get a great S&W Model 28 "Highway Patrolman" for $600-$800. They are as good as anything when all said in done. The Model 27 is the definition of solid. The most popular revolver on this forum has to be the Model 686 in its various incarnations. For "coolness" I like the S&W 8 shot R8. The Model 586 is also solid and fun to shoot. For EDC, the 340PD is hard to beat. What's not to like? Happy hunting!

I'm with HOUSTON RICK about the 28-2 with either the 4" or 6" barrel, depending on what you like best. Just looking at the Ruger GP100 specs and comparing them to the model 27 4" specs, the weight difference between them is only around 3 ounces. And a 4" model 27 should essentially weigh the same as a 4" model 28-2, since they are both 6 shot carbon steel N frame guns. And in my opinion, the model 28 is a much nicer gun than the Ruger.

As for cost on the model 28, I bought a 6" for $575 plus shipping and a 4" for $636 plus shipping last December off GB. And both were low round count guns and are a joy to shoot.

I checked out the Ruger Security Six that I posted about recently while we were in Sioux Falls. I've decided against the Ruger Six Series, as much as they are asthetically pleasing. This is not the first one I've handled in which the cylinder locking bolt drops with the finger resting lightly on the trigger, which allows the cylinder to turn unintentionally. Not a feature that I care for. I'm not sure if the SP or GP series have this same "quirk".
