Handgun Round Penetration in Pressure Treated Lumber

If you want to get the most out of the wood, cut the boards into blocks and stack them so the endgrain faces the shooter. Obviously, you'll need more nails and glue, but it should be much, much more resistant.

Just a thought but if you place targets in the same area over time the wood will get blown away. Do you have any access to used industrial rubber belting or mats.

Thanks but, this is not a primary backstop, I have a 6' tall berm of dirt that I am shooting into, the wood is just giving me extra protection to make my backstop 9' tall for just in case someone pops off a round in recoil... Essentially I am shooting into a 6' pile of dirt and building a 3' wall on top of that which should never be shot unless an accident happens.
