Handled a Walther PPQ M2

Buddy bought the 5" version of this pistol and brought it over for me to fondle. Grip felt good and I love the huge sight radius, it just makes you hold the gun steady. "OK to dry fire?" I asked. My buddy smirked and nodded. OMG!!! That trigger, it's simply wonderful. I had read all the online raves with a pinch of salt, but they are spot on.

Only issue is that I'm tapped out after Xmas travel and my wedding. First world problems, eh?

I have a PPQ M1 (paddle mag release) and I love it. Everything about it is buttery smooth, including the trigger and the mag release.

It's the best polymer striker fired hand gun out there, IMO. And I prefer the paddle mag release; it's a shame all pistols don't go to a paddle system. I can release a mag without modifying my grip at all.

However, I've not yet handled or shot the CZ 10C, and I've heard the trigger is even better on that one.

My buddy tried both and said the Walther felt superior to him.

Have a 40 M1 4 inch and 9mm M2 5 inch. Both amazing pistols. Why can't Glock design a decent trigger and grips? I won't go back.

I have both 9mm and 45 ACP Walthers PPQ models and both have outstanding triggers. I have shot the CZ 10 the last 2 years at LEO range day during Shoot Show, while the trigger is nice the grip has very aggressive checkering and not pleasant to hold tight and shoot a lot.
I handled the new Walther short version of the PPQ at Shot Show and the trigger was not as good as my full size models.

To give glock their due, the 4th gen was an improvement. Still not as good as the PPQ, but much better IMO. Haven't tried the 5th gens yet. Better question may be is why the Glock is more expensive than the PPQ?

I own the PPQ Q5 with the match barrel. Man is it a dream to shoot.

My buddy has found one thing he doesn't like, the width of the rear sight notch. Too much daylight for him.

Yes, the PPQ has a great trigger for a range gun, but is too light for a carry piece in my opinion. Also the gun has a bit of muzzle flip and if one is recoil sensitive shooting a large amount of hot ammo might cause the shakes. IMHO the new S&W M&P 2.0 Compact is much superior.

I know that the PPQ is all that right now but I still prefer its predecessor the P99AS. Paddles, cocked striker indicator, decocker, and outstanding ergonomics. Shoots like a dream and has a DA/SA trigger system.

Only criticism I've seen of a PPQ is the trigger might be too light for Self Defense.

I have the P99QA.
Wonderful trigger and the grip fits perfectly due to the small back strap that comes with it.
