I AM 29 - I decided to start counting backwards quite a while ago.
I never thought this birthday would find me where I am today. We have moved from the rehab center to his apartment in another town and got him set up at home. His mother lives here too and she has Alzheimer's and is paranoid; fortunately for me, since she thinks I am here to steal her stuff, I can't understand a word she is saying.
There is nothing like the wearing another's shoes to make you grateful for what you've got. I don't have much in the material goods anymore but at least I have my health and my brain. This is a good birthday.
Happy Birthday, Barb. A few years ago I too decided to start counting my birthday going back - it doesn't work, but some time it fools people... but makes you wonder, why do they roll their eyes . Have a good one, my friend.
