Hard to find Smiths, in shooter grade...

" One exception: My great, great grandfather's Harper's Ferry 1842 rifle that he carried in the War of The Great Rebellion. Though it appears to be in excellent condition, I haven't fired it out of concern for damaging it. It is complete with the ram and bayonette."

Harkrader, is this a .69 caliber 1842 smoothbore musket or a .54 or .58 caliber 1841 Mississippi rifle? What unit did he serve with?

Can you post pictures?

Two fun shooters. One in .357 and one in .38spcl:

My bottom-line rule is that if I can't shoot it, I don't want it, with a couple exceptions. One exception: My great, great grandfather's Harper's Ferry 1842 rifle that he carried in the War of The Great Rebellion. Though it appears to be in excellent condition, I haven't fired it out of concern for damaging it. It is complete with the ram and bayonette.

I have two guns I shoot to horrify friends. First is a Colt "Black Army" 1911. I got it in "shooter grade," so, why not? I'm no expert, but it appears to me that the barrel is not original. It has "AA" stamped on the frame. I'm told that means it was armory-rebuilt, but it is a 1911 and NOT an A1.

Second is a gun that was one of my "grail guns": A 1921/28-overstamp Navy Thompson. Parts for it? BWAAAA HA HA HA HA HA! "Shoot it like you stole it!"

So I do.

We need photos! Pictures please!

Would love to see the 1842 Harpers Ferry and the Tommy Gun.

I have a Colt Model 1921AC and shoot it on occasion. It's been shown here before.

I like my 32/20s. I have had several of them over the years. My
quest for a nice shooter in a HE Target has not been reached. I
have a Marlin & Win lever gun and 3 HEs in 32/20. Pleasant to
shoot and these days not much more expensive to shoot than a
22. This one I just picked from a forum member recently. It has
been refinished, but a nice job. Haven't had time to wring it out
yet. It may be a project gun for adj. sights.

My 4 digit K-22-the two small pits on both sides of the frame where the gun rested for decades in a target shooter's box more than qualify it for a shooter.

Pre model 19 Combat Magnum, factory re-blue and scratches from its reported use by a Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent.
