Hard trigger? what hard trigger?

I have trouble with my SW40VE as far as the trigger pull. I recently purchased a M&P40C & I love the trigger on that. Still, I would like to get the Sigma "right". Does anybody have any experience with that guy on ebay(Jefflisa?)who offers to modify your sear block assembly for $40.00?
If so, how did it work out for you?

If you want a lighter trigger ditch the Sigma, First the Sigma is a DA the striker is not set half way or fully by the action of the slide. The slide only resets the striker. Second it is just the design of that cam pushing against the plastic housing that creates friction as the cam is forced both down and back.

The SD series uses a simple lever design which gives you a far better pull compared to the sigma.

I could give my Sigma a 2lb trigger if I didnt mind light strikes and failure of trigger to reset.

i have a sigma sw40ve that the trigger pull is so hard on that it throws off my aim. i have purchased wolff springs and intend on lowering the trigger pull to 3.0lbs. would taking the sear out and sanding the bumps off the frame help too? i have a springfield xd 45 tactical that i love the trigger pull on. how do i get the trigger on the sigma like the trigger on my xd? also how do i get the sear out of the frame and what do i use to polish it? a fine grit rubbing compound? any help or tips would be much appreciated as my next step after this is to sell the sigma and buy a glock model 22. if i can fix the problem then ill keep the sigma but as it is right now i couldnt hit the broad side of a barn if it was falling on me! thanks in advance

The Sigma doesn't seem to be the gun for you.(IMO) The Sigma takes a lot of work, time, and know how to get it like a XD or Glock. So much to the point that it's unreliable or a Comp gun not a carry gun.

First you need to take the sear out to see if the pins are punched. If they are there is not much you can do with it. You might as well sell and get the glock you want.

You can browse though the pages in this section of the forum. There is all the info you need on polishing, springs, spring removal, and so on.

BTW Wolff springs have been found to unreliable by many people, and work for few people.

Glad you pointed that out. Mine was rubbing pretty hard against the frame. There were shiny rub marks on the link bar and the frame was scored. I tried bending it out a little and put a dab of grease on the rub.

It is definitely the source of the rubbing/grinding sound I hear when pulling the trigger. I am afraid to bend it enough to stop the rub - I've tried several times and am concerned about screwing it up. I think the grease helped, but the rub is still there.
This is what fixed mine. I also ground down the raised ridges on the frame where the trigger bar rubs, with some grease it fixed it up just fine. Now it's smooth as glass and with 1700 rounds thru it without one hiccup!
