Has anyone gone 100% revolver?

Has anyone gone 100% revolver?

I have gone 100% revolver I sold my 2 S&W auto's at the last gun show and replaced them with revolvers...So now I have 11 revolvers and no autos in my personal collection...The only Semi auto I have in my house was issued to me by my department...

I LIKE my revolvers, but I'll never be a 100%er. There's something too practical in the Glock 20 for me to ever let that one go....16 rounds on tap at >700 ft/lbs each. While the revolvers are greater works of mechanical art, they just can't touch that for a real tool for a hazardous environment.

Going 100% of anything would require selling something, and you can count the guns I've sold in the last 25 years on the fingers of one hand.

I've always figured that it was the message that was more important than the messenger, and the message is .45ACP.

1911's and 625's are the best messengers that I know of... Steel, wood, and 100 years of bringing the very best.

Not 100% revolvers because I really like the 1911, the Hi-Power, and the Colt Woodsman. Have some other, mostly collector's automatics.

I know I will not own a Glock. Too many real guns out there to spend money on overrated plastic with a crummy trigger.

I have one semi-auto, a Walther P22 (.22 LR) that I bought awhile back. (Years ago) I got it as a fun gun, to go along with my Ruger 10/22. I seldom shoot it anymore.

Other than that.....I have all revolvers. (Big deal......six!!!! )

You know I have been tempted to just chuck all the autos and go fully revolver sometimes. But not followed thru. I recently tried to sell a nice Sig and apply the money towards something like a Smith Bodyguard which I think would be a great backup for my 640 but no one wanted it! Probably the last autos I would sell would be the 1911, the little prewar Mauser, and maybe the German Mak. The very last would probably be the Colt, among them. Put the money into some nice wheelguns but then I get back to reality. My gun buying and mad selling/swapping days may be shortly coming to an end or stalling out due to job economics but I got enough six for sure to hold me for awhile. And chasing brass at the range is a PIA too!

I only own 3 .... a 28-2, a 19-3,& a 36 ( that I just got ).
When I got my permit, I went shopping ... and never really considered an auto. Didn't even think about it til I read a few posts on here and had similar conversations with friends.

I tend to think of autos as "tools" ... cool tools, but tools. Revolvers ( to me ) are like pieces of functional art.

I like the look ... the feel .. and the sound. Don't get me wrong, there are autos I like as well, but I just don't get the same "feel" for them as I do a revolver.

I own a few wheel guns for looks, own a 1911 but overall think it's pointless, I carry a Glock.

I made the transition over the last six years. Lately, I've divested myself of even Ruger revolvers, save one - a Ruger 'Old Army' blackpowder c&b. My only other Ruger now happens to be my one and only rude-case-tosser - a MKII (.22LR). My CCW are a 642 or 296, while S&W revolvers fill the bill for plinkers, competition, etc.

Okay - my wife had to have a Lewis Seecamp .32 for her pocket... cost me a Ruger. Her car gun is a 2" 10, however. I like revolvers.

Oh, when asked what I'd protect my home with in a 'Zombie' attack, and, yes, I've seen the movies, since revolvers are so limited in capacity, I just submit this picture. In it you'll see 105 moonclips loaded with ball ammo. It normally fills a .223 metal ammo box. I also have two 15 moonclip Tupperware containers 'ready' for a range trip at all times - and more unclipped ammo boxed - somewhere. That's 810 rounds 'clipped and ready for fast reloads - any of you Glockers, etc, have that much in mags at the ready? Ha! Who said revolvers can't be fired rapidly? ... of course, watch me fumble!

I have many more revolvers than the autos. I like the looks and handling of a good revolver over any bottom feeder. I am an old guy and started out with a revolver and carried revolvers when I was a LEO. I do have a number of revolvers that I don't want to get worn from carry. I carry one or two revolvers most of the time. I carry my Glock 26 a good bit, particularly in the Summer. I can sweat all over it and it won't rust. It is easy to operate and fairly small, light and has plenty of rounds in the magazine. I often carry it with a Keltec .32 in my offhand pocket in a Galco pocket holster. The Keltec is smaller and lighter than any revolver I have.

For me, the autos I have are just tools. They do what I need them to do. The Glocks in particular, are good for hard use and any wear that may happen is not a problem. Like a good hammer, I expect them to do the job and not need to be babied. The revolvers will always be the guns that I really enjoy just because they are what they are...

I have a Glock 21 and 35 that I bought primarily for competition but I'm at the point where I don't use them anymore. Competing with an auto is kind of pointless since I never choose to carry them concealed. I'm tempted to sell the 35 because I refuse to buy and shoot plated bullets for just one caliber. The 21 will be a keeper because the Bar-Sto barrel will shoot lead and the same ammo as my three 625s. I'm now back to casting my own bullets to be able to afford to shoot and once again I'm back to shooting only revolvers in competition. Once again I will compete with the guns that I carry.

I have a few autos but nice old wheel gun will make my lip sweat every time.

Some 1911s, a couple of BHPs, a Woodsman and a couple of Ruger .22 autopistols. Other than those, haven't found any I cared to keep in years now. These seem to meet any and all needs I have for semiautos; my ratio is probably 80%+ revolvers and liable to go up in the future.

I just do better with them and with a few, a lot better.

Four S&W J-frames, a Charter Arms Bulldog in .44SPL, all due to arthritis in the old fingers and hands. I have a heckuvva time working the slide on the autos. I passed those on to my sons, two each, one Glock and one 1911 each.
