I go out and get beer, cigs and gas just like before the pandemic. You'd never know anything was wrong if you just woke up from a long sleep.

The market is another story in itself. First it was the TP shortage but that seems to have been remedied. Next was the social distancing and how the market decided to implement it. That caused me to have a wild and unfruitful discussion with a woman in front of me along with several employees. I thoroughly enjoyed that day and even more when posting it here a while back. You see putting blue tape on the floor without any signage doesn't tell me a darn thing. I take full credit for it being fully resolved because the next time I came in there were signs everywhere and stickers on the floor showing you where to safely stand.

That wasn't the end of the "feel good" things the employees thought up to jerk us around. The latest was to make every other aisle one way. The arrows were on the floor so few people paid any attention to them. Being the good citizen that you all know I am I paid attention to the signs.

About the only thing it did was double the time I spent shopping because I had to go down aisles for no reason except to get to the aisle I needed to be in. It sucked because some items I wanted were only about five feet in and I couldn't reach them. Maybe it was good because it gave me more time to observe the behavior of other shoppers. As I was about to pass a lady standing in the middle of an aisle I said "Excuse me Ma'am". I thought she was going to drop like one of those fainting goats.

Another thing new was two employees at the door. Apparently they were only allowing so many people inside so you had to wait outside for your turn to shop. Of course this is only my opinion but it was and still is a bad idea. It's a big store so shoppers were already spread out. The issue remains at the checkout lanes where people are always backed up.

Those two bean counters would be better off opening up two more lanes and getting people out. You see in the old days if there were 3 or more customers in line the store would automatically open up another lane. As it stands now you have people waiting to checkout backed up down aisles where others are trying to shop.

What also gets me shaking my head is people that venture out side to shop for only one or two items. Is your health really worth that risk? I like to push peoples buttons here in the Forum but I only go out when necessary and make it worth my while in doing so.

There's an old saying that goes "measure twice..cut once". I used to apply something similar when I was working. Don't create a new problem when solving an old one. This seems to be lacking at all levels in Society.

So with all of the new changes nothing has really changed at all.

Went to senior hour at walmart and aactually scored some disenfectant wipes and tp. They lined all the old folks up at the door, and made us go in in an orderly and spaced fashion. Then only one checkout (inexperienced) person, while apparently trying to force us into self checkout. Was grateful to actually fill the list, without getting robbed at local store that wanted $4/doz eggs and $4/single country style rib.

In realty, not alot of change for this guy except no sit down breakfast fri morn with the gang.

The Bill of Rights is in tatters. Some 25,000,000 Americans are out of work. The Federal Government is spending trillions of dollars that we don't have. Problems with the food supply chain are developing. Massive inflation is possible/ probable. Just another day in paradise. Sure.

Yep, "just nipping out for a couple of bits" is a habit that seems hard to break. Pre-COVID-17 I could never understand those who would drive home from work, dither around doing nothing in particular and then go out to the store. Why not go to the store on the way home?

I learned to consolidate my journeys from being born in Britain and paying their gas prices. I have to attend an eye doctor appointment tomorrow. I will follow up with a trip to Lowe's and the grocery store with an ever growing list. Good news, it will mean one exposure to the diseased instead of three.

One of the chain food stores in our area now has a policy of one shopper one cart. They even have a couple "bouncers" enforcing it!

Mrs Lakesider said she saw one person pushing a cart with items it it and what she thought was a significant other pushing a empty cart right behind her. They went to the cashier aisle the "shopper" put items on the counter. Then the None Shopper pushed his cart aside and the two walked out together.:p

Whats next?:D

I miss my 401 and IRA growing in leaps and bounds like it has for the last four years pre-corona. We want those days of winning back!

What has changed? The weather finally got nice and went shooting!
I'm in a much better mood now.

I went out too. Saturday went to the big LGS for its reopening.
There was a line of over 200 people outside waiting for the doors to open. When open only a handful let in at a time. I did get everything I needed so I got over it.
Then Sunday I went to the range to clean the place and shoot 2 rifles.
