Used to be before the Covid pandemic older ammo sold for a premium over modern ammo so I was curious if the modern ammo caught up to collectable value and they are about the same now or if the collectable stuff went up too?

From what I've seen, real collectable ammo is still very high. Some people will pay $2000 for a beautiful old box of 12ga. duck loads from the '20s or '30s. Must be fun.

I was more curious about 60s-80s

I have found that ammo from the time period you are asking about is more often treated as shooting ammo than collectible. Most of it is simply looked at as "too new" by collectors other than those seeking certain items to fill out their collection. And even then the boxes have to be pristine to get much interest. There are certain calibers, discontinued brands, specialty loads that do have a bit of collector interest and normally bring a small premium. Common calibers rarely bring much more than current production ammo though right now they can easily be sold for the same high prices as new stuff. In general everything is going for higher prices currently...............
