He has been feeling poorly for the past few weeks to the point of some mornings not being able to get up from a sitting position without wincing. Took him to the vet for x rays yesterday and while in Court the wife came and got me with the news. His prostate was about the size of an apple and had worked it's way into his abdominal cavity. I asked what the prognosis was and was told I had a choice-prostate medicine for the rest of his life or take his do-dads and the prostate would shrink up and all would be well. I made the economical decision after learning what the medicine was gonna cost and told my wife to tell the vet to "take 'em". Didn't have the heart to pass that kind of decision myself. When he gets home today,I will tell him it was all momma's idea-that she will not be happy until there are no testicled males in the house

I was at a vet and a lady had a German Shepard that was just shaking like a leaf. I asked what he was so nervous about. She said he has been like that every time he goes to the vet now since he had his nads removed.
Maybe he wondered what they might cut off next.

Dogs Forgive Their Owners

Angus will be just fine and will forgive You and the missus. Your post reminded me of a Far Side cartoon. A dog, sticking his head out the window of a car driving down the street, yelling to a local mutt on the sidewalk"Hey, I'm going to the vet to get tutored!"

My late wife got a little dog and wanted him fixed. Then wants me to take him to the appointment. I do. When I returned with the dog, I also presented her with a small bag with a couple small round pieces of plumbers putty. She was so gullible. I loved that about her. I was such a prankster, sometimes she loved that about me. But, only sometimes. I miss her and that little dog. God bless you both.

If Angus is anything like my 90 pound pit bull BoB he'll bounce back soon. There is nothing left there to lick but sometimes he'll do it anyway.Better have a handful of puperoni snakes for him. Frank
