Have You Ever Left A Gun At The Range?

No. Just like staying at a hotel, I load up the truck & ready to leave, & go back just to look around.

Never left a gun at the range, but I've left a ton of stuff at home when going to the range! The two worst are leaving the ammo at home or forgetting hearing protection. Either one means no shooting that day!

I finally made a check list of the stuff that I need every time I go to the range. I put it in a vinyl page protector that I keep with my range box. So far that has stopped the problem of leaving things at home. I suppose it could be used the same way when leaving the range.

I haven't personally, but heard about a guy at our club some years ago who left a 9mm carbine in the rack in trying to coral his kids into the car to leave (yeah, the kind of guy that brings his kids to the range and lets them run amok behind the line and all over the property while he shoots, so I didn't have much sympathy for him). He remembered it when he got back home, returned 30 minutes later to an empty range and no rifle. And as far as I know, no one ever returned it or admitted finding it.

That would have to make you major sick - not for losing the gun, but wondering where it went and if there would eventually be a knock on the door with questions about why it showed up at a crime scene or a suicide . . .

No, but I have gone to the range and left my gun at home after packing a range bag with everything but a gun.
It just keeps getting better as I get older too!

Recently I loaded up everything and when I pulled the rifle out of the case at the range... No bolt. They do not work well without that part. At home on the workbench... Also, another time, left the ammo at home..

Yes, still in the rack at the Trap club when I got home and found out the Browning case was kind of "light". No problem, still in the rack when I got there to claim it.

ecently I loaded up everything and when I pulled the rifle out of the case at the range... No bolt.

Something else to add to my list! Thanks.

I left a M63 laying on the ground while shooting
on a strip mine site. I was off the hill about 1 mile away when I missed it. Needless to say I
traveled that 1 mile up the hill at a high speed and luckily it was still there when I arrived.
