If Gov. was interested in controlling crime,

or even trying to keep guns from the wrong hands?

You would think a major step would be to identify stolen guns, & thusly the people responsible.

This the 21st century, www & all, we have the technology!

I ask, WHY is the Nat'l. stolen gun registry not available to more? Why do we need law enforcement to make the call, are we all presumed guilty by the fact that if we would even touch a "shudder" gun.

Why do we need the FBI to 'instant check' for private sales? Anyone who is honest enough to try to do the legal thing by submitting to the check should be able to search 'on line'.

When our Gov. budget is stretched to the breaking point already, we don't need more bureaucracy, we need a chance to do it right ourselves!

Our present system of back ground checks is not interested in prosecuting the liars that try to do wrong, only in controlling the honest dealers. Our own VP Mr. Joe confirmed that already.

I sure wish they would fix all this that's wrong with the present system before trying to add more bureaucracy & red tape. :(

The end result is that NO ONE will be allowed to have guns. Those people hate guns and they HATE you for having a gun. We need to scream and shout BIGOTS when they open their mouths! Turn the discussion away from why I NEED a gun to why are THEY a BIGOT?

All of these people are hypocrites. The President, Vice Pres., Govenors, politicians, actors, they all have paid ARMED body guards and most of them are paid for by us. I will make them a deal, if they are willing to give up their protection then I will give up my guns.
For the amout of money that we pay for their protection we could put a cop in every school!!!

You can have a background check, get the gun, get the CWP and still be screwed because these gun control supporters don't care if what they pass and enforce really works. For example take the poorly written Colorado magazine capacity limit bill HB 1224. They knew it was a mess but passed it anyway. Another example closer to home, my CWP for the City and County of Denver. When I went downtown to pick up my permit, I looked at it and told the nice officer behind the bullet proof glass that I couldn't read the card. He said yes we know our printer was not working right. He said to call this number and make an appointment to get a new card printed. When I called they said yes we know some cards are not readable, but not to worry about it. If I have a problem just call this number, and he gave me a number and to ask for Detective Jones. What?
Hollywood writers stoned on coke and meth couldn't make this stuff up. If ever I am pulled over or forced by LE to show my CWP they can't verify it unless they call Jones at 700-913-6004..............Oh.....Hello, you have reached Detective Jones....please leave a message and I will get back to you ASAP........OH......not in service.....Oh.....line is busy......Oh......Jones? Jones who?.......Uhh yea......let me look up the name......do you have his soc sec number by any chance.....no that didn't work.....can you hold?.........do you have his DL# maybe that will work.........No I can't find anything, maybe you should just bring him in until we find out........Seriously.......this is your government at work.........can you imagine if I am in another city or state and they want to verify my CWP?
So even when I jump through all the hoops and do everything right .....it's wrong and god help me if I ever have to show that CWP.
For someone used to covering his backside, I'm feeling the breeze back there and I don't like it.

Its not on their agenda......the sad part is ...many mayors associated with Bloomberg can not even pass a background check. I am going to have my own background check and questioneer for the next person that I vote for and would like them to sign it at the end and be responsible for what they stand for......and they better understand the Bill of Rights and Constitution, and understand "Not to be Infringed"

If the GOV. solves all the problems, it will phase itself out. Are you going to work yourself out of your job? I agree that the gov needs to shrink by, well, lets start with 75% and see where we end up. And, charging a fine on criminals is pointless as their money is tied up in fancy cars, jewelry, and illegal guns. They have to fine the working stiff, as he has something to lose if he doesn't comply.
