I stopped by a local shop and among the consignment items is an ANIB model 28. Price is $575 but I was told they might have a little wiggle room on it. I have no interest in it and just wanted to pass the info on. The dealer is:

Freedom Armory
Glen Rock, PA

Just a little curious. What barrel length, stocks, dash number?

Sorry, I should have posted that initially.

I didn't get the dash number. It is a four inch wearing magnas. I didn't ask to handle it as I am not interested in buying it, so this is just what I saw of it lying in the case.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the additional information. Sometimes it's tough to note all the miriad and sundry details, especially if you aren't personally interested in buying it.

One more question if I may:
Did you happen to notice if the barrel was pinned? Or if it was a 3, 4, or 5 screw?

It's a little out of my price range unless it is something unique...

No, it was laying on its right side so I didn't see how many screws in the sideplate and didn't look close enough to see if the barrel is pinned. What I did notice was that the bluing did look very nice and the stock on the left side was very sharp. Didn't get to see the one on the right side though.

They had someone come in that recently lost a high paying job and has an equally high priced lifestyle. He brought a bunch of handguns to consign; mostly 1911's but some revolvers too. Almost everything is/was unfired. He just liked to collect rather than shoot. Some of the 1911's are Nighthawk and Ed Brown models with all manner of custom features and finishes - stuff he ordered that are one of a kind, $3-4000 type guns. I believe they also had a Colt New Service and a couple of Ruger Super Redhawks in there too. Shame the guy had to liquidate the whole collection like that but I guess that is the times we are in.
