Got a bunch of 223 Rem with this headstamp KFA. I tried to research and can not find much if anything on it. I think it may be Kilgore Ammunition Products which would be a LE or Military only product.
I search several sites that listed many headstamps but this is not there.
Just curious.

I just copied it for you.

3. A frangible for LE only by Kilgore Ammunition Products in Tennessee. Kilgore has been around from long before the Vietnam War making flare cartridges. We used their 76mm flare cartridges on the RF-4Cs for night recce. This is LE only and Kilgore makes no ammunition for commercial sale-I had a long conversation with their marketting chief. As far as I know this is the only small arms round with the KFA headstamp.

Yes, I had read that site info and is were I got the Kilgore name. But I was confused as the picture shows 4 photos but the explaination only describes 1-3??

I looked up Kilgore and found a pic of their 223 ammo but not of the base headstamp. Pretty sure that is what it is as the guy I got the brass from gets it from LE ranges.

Actually it shows from left to right the bottom of the first two cartridges, the top of the second cartridge and the bottom of the third, the KFA.
