It's great to check in here and see everyone doing so well. Seeing other who continue on the path to health will help me do the same. Good for all of you.

I took a weather related rest day yesterday, but got in a bit of walking to shops looking for shoes and beer. Yes beer, I did not drink any, but it's in the refrigerator for when I need it. ;) I also did 45 minutes in the gym to stay limber.

This morning I see rains popping up all around on the radar, I'll try to get in a five mile walk and just be ready to get rained on. Precipitation chances are about 50% until 7:00 AM when they go up to 60%.

Now that I am below 195 pounds every pound I lose is noticeable to me in the mirror and in the fit of my clothes. My 36 inch waist garments are being retired and the new 34 and 35 inch waist models are taking their place. Time for my walk. Have a great day!

Edit: Got in a 5.7 mile walk this morning with no rain. Hopefully I'll get in a 3.5 mile R/T to a grocery store later in the day.

A little disappointed in my average speed over 17 mi yesterday (16.3mph), so I sacrificed a mile and paid more attention to cadence--much better- 16.7 mph--but--only 788 calories compared to 836--same old deal--time in the saddle. Weight was 160 today--right at the bottom of the target window for 6'-1"medium frame--feeling good. 85.5 miles on the odometer since my new year started last Saturday. Not much rain action here in desert country--total annual precip is around 8", so fenders aren't a high priority--but I've managed to get wet a couple times. Wind here is the biggest issue--relatively calm days like today are a bonus. Keep up the good work folks!

218 today for me. I've actually put a few pounds on since Memorial Day, but I've been hitting the weights hard, going back to a routine similar to my shot, disc, and hammer workouts from college. I'm trying to pack some muscle on before I do another round of low cal, high cardio to drop down to 210 or so. Gonna run a 5K this fall with a target time of 22 minutes.

I managed to get in 9.5 miles of walking yesterday. The rains have me a few miles down for the week as a whole. I do not think rains will be an issue today, but my body does not feel like trying to make up the lost mileage right now. I'll be happy if I get in 10 miles or there about today. Time for me to get walking. Have a great day!

This evening I thought I'd share with you some of the good healthy foods I've been consuming on my diet to 190 pounds. Skim milk, tea, and grapefruit juice. Low fat Greek yogurt. Apples, I've got to have apples. I'm real close to the 190 pound mark. It's obvious to me that I'll want to drop to 185 pounds in the near future, but maybe at a different pace than I've been going for on this diet.

I noticed that too. When my weight got to the lower 190's that when it seemed to start making a real difference.

The indoor pools at the Y's been closed for renovations for the last 5 weeks.
Today they reopened. There's a warm pool and a cool pool.
The warm pool's around 90 degrees and feels great after a workout. It's smaller than the cool pool.
The cool pool's where they have the lap lanes and have swimming competitions.
There's also a steam room and a sauna.
While I was in the locker room a fellow that I haven't seen for the last 5 weeks commented that I look like I've lost a lot of weight and that I'm looking good.
I thanked him and told him that I have lost weight.
His goal's to get bigger.
Seems like mosta the guys there are trying to get bigger. I'm an anomaly, I want to get thinner and lighter.

Week five of my renewed diet plan has been a nose dive week. My wake up weigh in this morning was 190.2. That gets me to a BMI of 25.1, just to the fat side of the border between normal weight and overweight. Well, it gets me a beer or two this afternoon anyway. Right now I'm going to get ready for my morning walk and start formulating phase two of this diet. I have no plans for a giant meal. Beans and rice with a quality sausage would be nice this weekend, but that's nothing sinful in moderation.

Cooler rainy weather has raised my activity levels but I think that sweating less has let my blood sugar numbers come up even though my diet has not changed. It is easy to not drink enough when it is cooler and you are busy.
