Ok, I found a Sig P245 about a month ago on a consignment for $1099. I checked today and found to my surprise it's still available. It's claimed to be 98-99% but I still want to see it in person. I think for a So Cal price it's soso, but I think I may jump//bite. Anybody have one, and comments?

Don't know about So Cal prices, but it sound real high. Last year I purchased a new P220 compact (same size) but it was too heavy, low capacity and I wound up selling it. IMHO: there are better options for a small 45.....Save your money....

Is that the one in a certain chain store in oc?

I saw the ad...the 681 is tempting too and I should have gotten the 296 that popped up.

Yeah, CA has a premium in pretty much anything off roster. Everyone except us gets to enjoy police trade in Smiths and nice prices...find that same gun here and expect a couple hundred or more on top of that...

Ps there's an older p229 .40 in a shop in chino hills on consignment...the seller wants somewhere around $1200 ! Same for a Cougar in .45...

You have wise comments to ponder. I get emotional over German Sigs. 10 years ago I paid $650 for a slightly used German 220, 69rnds through it, and even the slide and barrel was hard chromed with Trijicons.

Yea, Lake Forest. I live a lot closer to Chino Hills. The P245 isn't technically off roster, just discontinued. There's the difference. If it was still being made and off roster I wouldn't be able to purchase it new.

Yeah the off roster premium in ca kinda sucks but sometimes people still give somewhat good deals...

I just drosd an off roster cz and I've got a baby eagle on standby...I say do it, especially if you like the sigs!

I hear voices in my head
They counsel me, they understand
They talk to me

I've had a P245 for 10 or so years. It keeps my 2 P220s company.

It's stupid accurate and has never had a failure of any kind. It's about all you could ask of a pistol :)

I just checked again. It's gone. Thanks to all who gave me comments. Its not the first time I missed an opportunity. I'll check back anyway,, maybe the buyer has a felony or something and it'll be back on the market. In the meantime I am still in love with my compact USP 45 so all is not lost.

Are your 220s German? As I stated in my op I have a German and an American 220. German and American 226s also.

The "voices"

Yes! That's it! It was the "voices". I'm sure it was the "voices".

I picked up this P226 German made (1990) last year. Apparently unfired from the look of the internals but no box, however it did have the manual and a full DeSantis shoulder rig plus a couple spare mags. Whole package for about $400 (it was part of a 4 gun package I bought). Gotta love the German built Sigs..

My first Sig was/is a W German 220 I got in about 1988-89. I got a 245 to replace my S&W4516 (too heavy) in about 1993 and picked up a second (two tone) a couple of years later.

The 6+1 doesn't bother me as I avoid combat zones whenever possible...... which seems to be harder and harder to do..... :D

The 245 shoots as well as the 220....... the 245 was my winter carry here in Pa. for years...... now I don't carry a .45 as much.... but still a go to carried in a Miami Vice shoulder rig with 2 spare mags..... full size with X-grip adaptors for winter walks in Penn's Woods.
