Heart Cath

My daughter had hers done yesterday and it went well. Very quickly, literally hours less than we were told it could take.

She was kept overnight as it was a left-side of the heart issue and they had to have her on a blood thinner overnight.

But thanks to those of you who prayed, sent emails, calls...


She should be coming home today.

That is wonderful, best wishes to all of you.
I have one, ablation, scheduled to be done in Baton Rouge on Nov. 2 Hopefully it will get rid of A-fib I've had for years and which curiously has been back to normal rythm for a couple of weeks now.

Yep, don't take long. Back in March after some syptoms on a Friday evening, I spent the weekend in the hospital. 9am Monday morning they wheeled me out of the room for my cath test. Found a 95 and a 85 blockage. Doc & I discussed the options and I was immediately transported to another hospital 30 miles away, with the cath thing still inserted in my thigh. Local one could not do stints, no heart bypass capability. By noon(only 3 hours after the start), I was tested, transported, stinted, spent 30 minutes in recovery with a big ugly nurse maintaining pressure on the cath incision near my groin and put in a reg room. In case your still reading an wondering, I am now eating right and exercising daily(10 mile bike ride not on level ground), down 30+ pounds and doing great.

I went to a choral workshop this morning and had just gotten started and the Mr. said it would be time to get them soon, so I left early and sure enough, we are home now.

And on the way home I talked to the school principal and he has come up with a solution on how to get me on campus it looks good!

So this was her EPS? Glad to hear it went well. Did they ablate any pathways? Hopefully they found the problem area and this will be the end of the SVT. I'm sure she'll recover quickly, the usual postop instructions are simple - no running around or lifting more than 10lbs for a week - easy for a grown up, no mean feat for a kid, though. Tell her we're all thinking about her!!

Yes, they found the problem and ablated the pathway. Wearing a monitor till tomorrow, and light duty for a few days.

Thanksgiving prayer out.

I'm in Tuesday for parathyroid surgery. My blood calcium level is way too high and it's interfering with a few other things to say nothing about the bone density loss and the bladder stones (had four removed the week before last). I'm not too concerned about the actual surgery; I just hope the anastheseologist wakes me back up.

I know a great weight has been lifted from all concerned. After seven weeks of visits to see my preemie grand babies in the icu,surgery for me ,my wife,F.I.L., other relatives friends and neighbors. IF you are sick or hurt Houston Texas is the place to be. Good luck from just to the east.
