Heavy rounds in 1/9 twist bbl.

Didn't read the XD thread, but it is my understanding the 1-9 twist is OK for up for up 62 gr and 1-8, 1-7 is for the 62 gr and up. At 100 yrds or less in a SD situation, I'm not sure it makes a whole lot of diff. My M&P has the 1-9, but I have only shot 55-62gr and it works pretty good for me.

Point is, under about 150 yds. the heavy stuff is fine in a 1/9 and probably won't see much difference until you get over 200 to 300 yds.

So the sensible thing to do is test the cartridge you intend to use in YOUR firearm to ensure it meets what ever requirements you have for it.

This statement holds true regardless of what round or firearm you are using.
