Looking to try and put a family heirloom back together for display and pass along in the future. Need a cylinder.

It looks like you have a Model 1 1/2. It is of limited condition, even not considering the absent cylinder. I think it would be a daunting task to find a cylinder in appropriate condition. Since it’s a heirloom, what I would do, especially since a decent 1 1/2 can be obtained ratter cheaply (as little as several hundred dollars), is display it in a shadow box side by side with a complete 1 1/2. You then have your heirloom on display as well as a complete Model 1 1/2 for comparison.

It’s hard to tell without in hand as the No 2 is larger than the 1 1/2, but I think it is a No 2. Sane advice applies, except the cost of a comparable No 2 would be twice that of a 1 1/2.

Yes, you can scout eBay for the appropriate cylinder, but just as I made the mistake of a 1 1/2 vs a 2, I think a single cylinder absent any other components might prove equally confusing, if not more so.

Pretty sure its a model 2 its .32 cal the serial number on the butt of the frame is 43487.

Cylinder options

Finding a Number 2 Army cylinder would be pure luck!

There are options out there.
There is a Japanese firm that makes a reproduction. You might be able to purchase a reproduction cylinder.

Who made the reproduction, Miroku? Is it still in production?

Marushin S&W Model 2 Army (Ryoma Sakamoto) Excellent Heavyweight Model Gun.

The website says sold out but you can put your name on a list to be notified when available. I’d imagine you could message them about parts availability as well. One example is a non firing replica and another is a heavy metal construction that’s bored completely through so I don’t know.

Just an option.
