Hey there Y'all! I was looking for grips for my s&w 4006 and stumbled upon this forum. Since the 4006 quickly became my favorite all around pistol ive fired i felt it was only fitting to join the forums. Ill make another thread for finding better grips so here's a little about me:
Im a 21 year old who just finished the NRA summer gunsmithing program at Lassen College. I got my Basic L.E.A.S. (Law Enforcement Armorer's School) certification, D.F.R. (Design, Function, Repair) S&W Auto Pistols Certs., D.F.R. Single Action Autos Certs., and basic rifle barreling Certs. I am by no means a gunsmith, but i definatly know my way around 1911's and 3rd gen S&W Autos. I personally like the design of the 1911 the most but i fell in love with my 4006 when i bought it in susanville. It shoots better than any pistol i have fired.
I am now in the process of looking for a gunsmithing apprenticeship, but in the meantime, i am signing up for my armed guard certification. And what pistol do i plan on using to qualify with? My good old .40 S&W 4006! I already have my CA Guard Card. Sadly i have to wait another month or more because of a recent surgery that is keeping me on my back but the second im well, im getting right back at it.
Well, time for me to go ask some questions and find somebody with an FBI palmswell style or patchmayr signature grips they wanna give up!
I cant wait to see what this place brings!
Thanks!
Spencer
