While I have been researching this forum on a number of S&W issues over the last eight months or so I finally decided to join your community. You guys have provided me with a wealth of info during my intro to wheel guns and S&W's in particular. I purchased my first (Model 19-4, 4" in nickel) last October and just recently acquired a Model 15-3 with original box, tools and papers. My guns so far have all been shooters but the Model 15 had me in a pickle. The gun is almost pristine and obviously has very few rounds through it. The only blemish is a small area of light pitting on the aft end of one side of the cylinder. I have been toying with the idea of having the finish repaired and have just read a great deal on this forum on the pros and cons. I think I will send the cylinder to S&W and have it re-blued and then decide if it will end up a safe queen treasure or another of my range kings.
