Yup...same town where Folsom Prison sits. (Very safe here--no one escapes and just "hangs around!" Hahaha!) Anyways, I've been a member for a few months, mainly to read neat stuff about Smiths. I own a Model 620 .357 7-shooter (which doesn't seem to be a popular Smith??), as well as a 9mm M&P, and a Classic 629 .44mag (my back up when hunting Calif pigs in the brush). Now, my question/situation: Have a grown daughter that wants to have a revolver as a home defense gun at her house. A very petite young lady, naturally very small hands. Is the J-frame Model 620 in the 3-inch barrel an ok revolver for her? I think she wants a revolver so her other roommate can use it without much thinking...pull the trigger and it goes bang. (She owns 2 Kimbers in .45acp and handles those guns nicely; I put slim grips and short triggers on both of them.) But when it comes to revolvers, it's hard to find one in a 4" barrel. I have an old Ruger Speed Six .357 that she likes...but I like it, too! So papa keeps his old Speed Six, which means I'm shopping for a small-grip revolver. (I don't think she or her roommate could handle a snubbie with accuracy, so the closest I could find on S&W's website was the model 60 3" in a J-frame.) Are there any 4-inch revolvers out there with slim grips, or perhaps swap out big grips for small grips? Suggestions, please. Thanks, folks!
