Hello all, newbie from Illinois here. I stumbled across this forum while searching for a gunsmith to do some work on one of my S&W's...very nice place you have here.

I'm ex Army (a short time, a long time ago), and a former LEO, have since moved on to different career paths, Firefighter/Medic, then social worker, now just relaxing and working in a library.

Looking forward to learning lots from all of you and hope I can contribute in some small way.

Welcome! Despite the anti-gun reputation your state has, I kinda like it.

I went to the Grand American in Sparta last year and was very impressed by the reception the folks gave us. Found a great little family restaurant in Red Bud and they treated me very well. Their fried chicken was as good or better than any I'd ever had. Had fish at another little restaurant in another near-by town and it rivaled anything we can get here in Florida.

Heading back for this year's Grand on Monday and looking forward to it.

Hi Guy,

I don't know where in Ill. you are, but here in the Springfield area we have LOT's of good shooting. Inside USPSA shoots every Thursday 5:30 to about 8:30 and outside just about every Sunday within a short drive.

Everything from Cowboy to 3 Gun shoots with a short drive."Hell", my club even shoots in the snow. Feel free to contact me at:
