Definitely should have joined long ago.
I'm 74, now retired, and more time on hand to review forums.
A draftee in 1968, my country selected me to represent them in lovely south Vietnam. 14 months later I was able to return to the US and go back to college. GI Bill even paid for a couple of years of graduate school. Joining the National Guard came next with ten years of traditional one-weekend-a-month and two weeks in the summer. I found I liked it a lot and eventually went full time in the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program. This included activation for Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 90-91, and a year in Baghdad Iraq in 04-05. When I retired from 26 years of Active Duty I was immediately hired as a military contractor and went on for another 14 years.
A FFL for 25 years (now dropped), current C&R, current CCL, current coach for 4H smallbore, lots of past fun with military shooting teams (why not, free guns & ammo).
Sorry to go on so long, ending with a couple of my S&W pistols.
