New to the forum and to the M&P line. I originally went S&W M&P due to my LGS. They recommended a 15sport to fit my needs and budget instead of buying a used gun because of the fantastic customer service and lifetime warrenty and also the quality of the gun for the price. I took the advise and I love my sport. Have yet to miss the FA or Dust cover. If it gets that dirty around me Issuppose a piece of duct tape would serve as a DC. Lol. Since that purchase I picked up a 15-22 for the wife in pink camp. Not my first pick I like mine black but whatever gets her to shoot with us. Also picked up a MOE 15-22 for my son. These were our Christmas gifts. Santa was good this year. I just got my M&P9 FS out of layaway last week and went out shooting Sunday. All have ran beautiful and I couldn't be happier.

Hello from Indiana. Just got here myself, and I started the same way. let my son pick out any 22 he wanted for his 12 birthday (couple years ago). He chose the M&P 15-22. Now I have the M&P 15 Sport, M&P 22 pistol, Shield and the new Bodyguard is on order. Kinda gets addictive doesn't it? Love it when an American company builds great guns at a competitive price. What is the M&P 9 FS?

Just the plain old M&P9 I just added the FS to indicate full size it was not the C or shield or CORE. Hopefully I can scratch up enough pennies to get a sheild for warm weather carry. I looked at some other manufactures for pistols but the others I liked were foriegn made. I know the gen 4 is the exception but its still not an American company and Im kinda funny about buying anything made outside the USA if I can help it.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Good for you to get your whole family involved in shooting sorts.

I really like the M&P shield and Bodyguard for the manual thumb safety. I'm not a fan of carrying a gun in pocket with no safety. I've tried 4 holsters for my Ruger LCP. 1 is decent but they double up the leather on both sides of the belt clip. By the time your done your gun is twice as thick.
American made gives me more pride in ownership. Not saying it's any better, just saying it was built by my peers).

That's what its all about. Some good ole family time. Besides anything that will get kids off the couch and away from video games and TV has to be good.

I bought my M&P used because it only has the trigger safety. I may find I dont like the lack of a Manuel safety later but with the heavy trigger pull and a good holster I thought I'd like it better. Time will tell. I'm the same about American products I'm a tag checker even at the grocery store.

I love to find good deals on used guns. Especially guns with lifetime warranties. You got real lucky. Enjoy!
I've never had a really good rigid IWB holster. If I did I might think differently, but I like a manual safety in a collapsible IWB holster. I always have to shift the gun when I get out of truck and I feel better with the safety. That's just me. I'm not knockin guys that prefer the trigger safety only. Nice thing about M&P line is you get the full size anyway you want.
