Hello Everyone,
Been a visitor for some time and finally took the time to sign up. I can't tell you all how fabulous this site is!!! All of you have done a wonderful job.
The first gun I ever acquired on my own was a S&W Mod 10-5. I traded two tons of coal for it, the original box, a holster and 2 boxes of shells back in 1980 from a young lady whose Dad purchased it new. While in college I learn how to reload shells for it and I have had the fever ever since. My carry gun is a M&P 45 midsize, I hunt deer with a Mod 686 (8" barrel) and have fun with a Mod 500. I also have a Mod 60 and 686+ (no dash) that are a joy to shoot. I have a M&P 15 that I use on coyotes.
Happy New Year,
Truckin

Welcome from Texas Truckin. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Carry a full size M&P as my duty sidearm and love it.

Welcome from central Ohio. You had any luck using your 686 on whitetalls? I've considered doing the same.

I taught ROTC at Rio Grande College, near Gallipolis. What a fantastic area!
While in the Infantry Advance Course at Benning, having commanded-I was eligible to put in a bid to teach ROTC-Rio Grande sounded great! We're from Colorado-and Texas would put us close to home. Surprise! Rio is in Ohio! Worked out fine-we commissioned a number of excellent officers.

Thank you all for the wonderful Welcome!!

JamesArthur60 - I have taken two bucks in the past four years with the 686. Open Sights, although I am thinking about switching over to a Colt Anaconda I have because it has a scope.... eyes are getting old. :) If I remember correctly I used a semi jacketed soft point.... 158 grain ... I believe.

11B Lifer - Funny story. Ohioians use Rio to con Texans into moving here ;)
