Hello from Tennessee

Just joined the forum. Am impressed with the level of information sharing among the members. I'm fairly inexperienced with S&Ws but desire/want/somewhat need K22s, Model 17 / 18s and Model 41s.

New, but already have a question. Picked up today a pre-Model 18 in a gold box. One end of the box lid states K-22 MASTERPIECE and 6-INCH BARREL. The other end has a sticker with 22 Combat Masterpiece and 4 inch Barrel. The box is sized for a 6-inch barrel. The serial number is not on the box. Could this be the correct box for my pre-18 22 Combat Masterpiece? I have read that K38 Combat Masterpieces were sometimes shipped in 6-inch K38 Masterpiece boxes. Could this be the case with K22s?

There are others wiser than I to answer your question but I note there are many times where the box does not match the gun when dealing with used sales and such.
