Hello!

I actually posted in the semi-auto section and realized that I should have said 'hi' here first.

I had an issue with a sw1911; one thing that I quickly realized is how friendly and helpful everyone is here. This is also a busy place! There are so many S&W fans that one can get a ton of replies to a post in a matter of hours! (anyway, my issue has since been resolved but I will continue to hang out in the forums) There is a just a ton of information and good reading here (and lots of pics of nice guns!)

I'm fairly new to the 'appreciation of the 2nd amendment'. I grew up in California (yes, you can blame that) and thus, the culture was always conducive to liberal thinking (not all California is this way but I grew up a 30 minutes from San Francisco). I moved to the South where folks talk about their ARs, hunting and general gun stuff by the water cooler. I converted pretty easily.

I'm more a rifle shooter (rimfire at 25 yards or reloading for 1 hole groups with a Savage 10FP) and I've since expressed more interest in handguns. I have a SW 686 and now a sw1911 that I am starting to really love (after some great SW customer service that did me right).

Welcome to this form from Mississippi...........neighbor. I'll agree about the information to be gathered from here. Have recieved quite a bit myself, especially about reloading. Safe shooting to ya.

Welcome from NW TN. Also lived about 30 miles NE of SF. I am happy to be FROM there.

Was glad to hear S&W fixed your problem.

I've made it my mission to convert friends from CA whenever they visit me. This is what's guaranteed when you visit me: a trip to the range, a gunshow, some fried foods/bbq! and some music!

(so far I'm 8 for 8 on the gun stuff (amazing how folks perception of what an AK47 is before and after you shoot one!), on the fried okra...not so good. =) )
