Hello everyone , Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all. Just found this site, and already love it! Thanks for the shared knowledge. I just want to say hi, and introduce myself, my name is J. Mark, and I'm a firearms enthusiast . I have been involved in the shooting sports and collecting for as long as I remember. I support my firearms addiction by making a living as a law enforcement officer. I have owned numerous S&W firearms over the years, too many to count, but as of now I have a 8 3/8" mod 629-1 a 6" mod 686, and a 3" .32 Lemon Squeezer. I have a bad hankerin' for a nice earlier mod 27, blue or nickle, with a 6" or 8 3/8" tube..... That's what brought me to this sight, some background research on that model.

Howdy! How far upstate? I now hail from the Great State of Maine, but my people are from the Adirondacks across the river from Glens Falls and parts north of there...I grew up 40 years ago in Scotia.

This is a very bad place to hang out if you feel a Model 27 urge coming on... Watch out for that "Ditrina" feller from Florida... he'll corrupt you in less time than it takes Elliot Spitzer to find a new "girlfriend" or Chuckie Schumer to find a TV Camera...

Do you belong to Watervliet F&G? I was a member there for 15 years before I bought my house 3 miles from Hendrick Hudson.

"UPSTATE" refers to elevation not geography.
