I have a Texas Ranger knife with a etched ranger sene. Serial # TR10###, S&W stamp 1973, TEXAS RANGERS 1823-1973, yes all the standard markings are there. I have seen a similar rare etching of one horse with a banner reading one riot one ranger but cannot find the etching I have with multiple horses no matter where I search. One other clue is a small scribed number 079 on the same side of the etching. I would really appreciate any input or knowledge anyone can share with me about this unique knife. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I do not have one, but this appears to be the one supplied with the model 19 Texas Ranger Commemorative set from that year. Am I missing something here? Hope this is helpful.

I had a TR set some time ago but my matching knife had no etching and the blade was shaped a little different - the knife came in a blue S&W box and was serialized to the gun. Im thinking the knife in your picture is not from a S&W set.

From the Standard Catalog of S&W. Page 577.

Blackie Collins Knives. Texas Ranger. Special etched Ranger scene, 100 made by dealer. New condition $2,000.00. Another has etched blade scene "One Riot, One Ranger" $1,500.00. Used will sale for less.
