Get in line and wait is all I can say.
In 6 months, the panic will have subsided, and you will see supply come back into a more normal state. But if you are worried real bad because you did not pick up a couple things months ago????? Oopsie. Maybe get ready to pay thru the nose!!!!

Try Code Red Firearms, their lowers are made by Detroit Gun Works. I been to their store a few times, very cool guys. Email is the best way to get in touch with them.

yeah bummer

I would wait also. I just picked up a stripped lower which normally sells for $90, i paid $125 plus fees. That was 10 days ago, now online they are auctioning for no less than $200.

$800 AR's are up to $2000!

Panic buying feeds the frenzy.

This too shall pass.

But I understand your want for the build.

What gets me about the "panic buying",what are they going to do with that $2-$2500. AR when they drop back down to more normal prices ? We'll have just the opposite effect going then.

I can only hope we see that day!
For now I am stocking up on 35 and 45 ammo with the money I would be using buying .223 and 5.56.

Gun prices went up in 09 and have never returned to normal without any new laws being enacted, do you really think prices will return to normal anytime soon? It will beyears.

So not true!

I hate to say it, but too many of you are A: In a panic, and B: Full of the stuff of the bull's making.....

S&W M&P15 Sport; retail from $599-699. No change if you are sticking to a reputable shop. If you want one tomorrow????? Yeah, the hoarders are out in full force. But WalMart still has the same prices on rifles. A Colt for $849. A DPMS for $649. Turners in Ca STILL had their Del Tons listed from 599-799, depending on application. Of course, none in stock, but that's the price.
So far as rifles that do not kill hundreds of people..... Savage Axis, still selling for about $369 with a 3x9 scope on it. Mossbergs' 30-06 rifle>>> Yep, under $400 with a scope.
Pistols; seems if you were waiting till now to get a Springfield, you can still find the XD's for the usual $350-550, and you can even find one in stock every so often.
I understand a small shop will take advantage and ride the wave of this stuff. And yeah, maybe a lot of people WILL wind up left out, and wanting in.... and some rain will fall. For them, they can buy their way in under the umbrella, or maybe they just can't.

In 6 months, there are gonna be a LOT of rifles bought on a credit card that are gonna get SOLD to pay down that credit card..... and sold cheap once the glut reaches its' peak- and those guns are commanding a19% interest commitment every month, collecting dust. I could not tell you how many I know who have multiple purchases who are counting on a tripling in price before they sell their stash of goodies. And like housing, when the bottom drops... most will be left swinging their 'barrel' out in the breeze. These hoarders; some will make money, some will lose their shirt. Look for the latter, he will be willing to make a deal.....!;)

rojodialblo....my world I really hope you just nailed it. I do not trust big brother but I hope you are correct. I didnt buy anything during the frenzy and am actually good right now but hoping you are correct. I guess we will sit back and see but I hope you got it right.

Not even taking into account in 6 mos. The ar will probably be banned permanently. After the relatively unknown ban of 94 ar prices stayed high for many years, I remember first hand. In October of 08 I purchased a new M&P 9 for $450 in a local gunshop, they havent been that price since. Demand will outstrip supply for a very long time Im afraid. Well see where prices are in just 6 mos but I bet they will still be high.

This is what happened during the last panic buy. For a while Cabela's wouldn't take a black rifle for trade in because they couldn't sell them.

I'm just saving up my $$$ and waiting for the opportunity to pick up a nice unfired, but used, FN-SCAR or Bushmaster ACR or HK or any other rifle patterned after a military rifle.

Ya that's easy for you to say but what happens if the B**** in Washington (Fienstien) gets her gun bill passed? Then I'm up **** creek without a paddle!

Thanks for the posts, but most are irrelevant to the OP. All I wanted to know was, is there any gun dealers or sporting good shops out there that have complete or stripped lowers in stock? And YES I am panic buying because in 6 months you probably won't be able to buy an AR platform rifle thanks to the B**** in Washington (Fienstien) and her gun bill legislation!

My big concern is that we won't be able to keep what we have or we won't be able to transfer what we have. I don't think it's far fetched that we'll all be forced to turn them in for a fraction of what they are worth (if any thing at all). And if you think they're going to stop with "black" guns; (IMHO) you're dreaming. I'm afraid that this is going to be bad, vary bad.

OP I dont know if you can find any right now, I would continue to look. I also pray that whatever BS gets through congress gets held up in litigation. If that doesnt happen we are looking at a very ugly mess, there is an old adage about "cold grey fingers" that will come into play, I do believe.

Ouch. I feel for ya dude. I'm not in the hunt for lowers, but I keep an eye out for them locally. I can't find a single one in stock. There is a local (to me) AR Builder that is accepting orders for AR15 lowers, but they have caveats:

1. All orders are subject to a $100 cancellation fee. They don't want to be your "spare tire" plan. You cancel, they ding you $100.

2. 8 week lead time.

Welcome to the RGUNS Internet Storefront

If you're worried about something that may or may not happen 6 months out, a 2 month lead time seems reasonable (especially now).

I'm not sure they'd go for an immediate confiscation. Even if they compelled us to turn in our firearms and paid us a fraction of their worth, I don't think the government has the budget to buy up all the guns out in legal gun owner's hands.

I think it's much more likely that the current government will try to pass legislation that will prohibit the transfer of grandfathered firearms. You die, and your family is compelled to turn in your guns for destruction. It's slow-motion gun confiscation over a couple generations.

I think then gun trusts would become more common. The trust owns the guns. Administration of the trust changes according to the rules set up in the trust.

Firearms enthusiasts would have some time to fight a firearms ownership prohibition. While some of us would die during the ban period and guns will be lost, some of us would have lives long enough to fight. Think 18th amendment prohibition on alcohol. It took 13 years to get that repealed.

Go to a certain popular Austrian semi-automatic pistol forum classifieds. There are bunches of folks posting stripped/complete lowers for sale at inflated prices.

You can find them. Just be prepared to pay through the nose for them.

Sad to think that just 2 to 3 months ago, I could easily find a Delaware Machinery stripped lower for $65. An anodized lower for $100. Now I've seen stripped lowers between $225 - $300. I've seen complete lowers between $350 - $450.

Everyone (who's worth buying from) is out of everything AR related, unless its an add on accessory. No rifles, no uppers or lowers or mags or ammo.

I am hoping that enough people write/call/email and enough of the house stands up. Mine are just that and always will be. The line has been drawn. I refuse to be persecuted because there are crazy people. I hope cooler heads prevail, BUT- my dead cold hands?! Be Safe, Locked & Loaded.
