Help Date Model 29-3

Just wondering the date of my S&W 29-3. The serial number is AUU8882 . This is a re-post as I had it in the wrong forum yesterday. One member did say he thought it was later than 1986. I was wondering if someone might get a little closer. As always I appreciate all your help.

So I decided to purchase the SC of SW for myself. If I am reading it correctly the AUU prefix would indicate 1986.

Yes, probably 1986 or 1987. The triple alpha #'s are difficult to tie down without a letter.

Disappointed. I was thinking you wanted help dating 3, 29 year old models.
Getting old can be tough duty.

My AZE serial # 29-3 is 1988, if that helps at all. Bob
