Help dating my Model 66

Hi, I have a Model 66 and the number on the bottom is 7K715XX. Could someone please help me find the date on this. I know i need to get around to buying a book on it but just havent yet.

Probably 1975.
The book you want to buy is the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 3d Edition. Currently selling on Amazon for $25.47. Or you can get the Kindle Edition for $17.39.

I just thought I would say that if you need dating advice for your relationship with your revolver, then you should consider that this gun collecting thing is getting a bit out of hand. Uh, so to speak.

Red insert in the front sight and blued rear sight or all stainless sights? It's very close to when they changed.

It's also very close to when they moved the gas ring to the yoke but it's probably still on the cylinder.
What does yours have?
