I am looking for a gunsmith that can replace the sights on my Shield.

I reside in Wheeling, West Virginia, which is about 50 miles from
Pittsburgh, PA.

Have contacted Novak Sights in Parkersburgh, WV. but they are not offering and work for the Shields at this time.

Any help and recommendations would be appreciated.

You can send it here and they will install them for free if you buy the sights from them.

If you have your own sights, they will install for $25. They do good work. All you have to send them is the slide.

Braverman Arms on Penn Ave in Wilkinsburg, PA. Wilkinsburg is on the east boarder of Pittsburgh. Ask for Frank the gunsmith. I have known him for about 30 years and would trust him with anything gun wise. He is a true master of the craft. Bill

Jakpro, thanks much for the link. I am of a "mature" age, and need all the help I can with sights. Shooting at the range with poor lighting just adds to the problem. I cannot find a local gunsmith, so the link you provided is very welcomed.

If you are sending just the slide, any special procedure? Can you use UPS or do you need special forms?

Get a small flat rate Priority Mail box at the post office. Wrap the slide in bubble wrap and pack it in the box. Seal it up well with packing tape and ship it. It should cost only around $6. You could insure it it for $200, also.
