I noticed in the M&P pistol forum there is a thread where some post when they find certain guns in stock on the interenet during this shortage.

I am trying to locate a M&P15 Tactical. Was wondering if I could get a post if anyone happens to locate one on the internet during their normal shopping for ammo, etc.

Thanks,
Jrod

Local gun shops aren't doing you any favors? I got mine recently from a local shop, just be patient and persistent.

LGS is charging $2300. Plenty in stock. Nobody is paying that price. I've seen some online for approx $990. Just can't get to their site fast enough.

Here's what I'd do if you are wanting to buy from an Internet source. Go to smith and wesson's website. Pick a firearm arm write down the MODEL NUMBER. Do a Bing search.... "Buy smith and wesson model number 81xxxx". Then start clicking links. You might have to go back 5 to 10 pages....maybe more.....but if its there that's a good way to find the exact gun you want.

I found mine at the right price on page 5. :)

Now THAT sounds like a good piece of advice right there!:D That should answer your question.:)

2300 is just ridiculous....I was charged 1199 out the door and get the 100 dollar mail in rebate. No reputable shop should be taking advantage of people like they, they are all making money hand over fist.

It's all about supply and demand. I would keep checking with that LGS if they have stock and it is not moving. They will start lowering the price. Right now it is a balancing act where the shops are trying to move the last one off the shelf right as the truck drops off a few more. They will have to adjust the price if the market will no longer support $2300. Hopefully, the mad rush is over and prices will start to return closer to normal.
