Help - Fix broken front sight - J frame model 651

But, I and I am sure others like the story of you and your grandpa at the range and your wanting to preserve it as a memory of him. For use as a wall hanger having the frront sight crack filled with silver solder would work. Actually probably work to shoot it from time to time. If you don't drop it. LOL

IO have a picture of my Grandpa and Grandma along with his spurs, and interesting deal of braided leather with sliding leather beads that he told me was used for tallying cattle, and some sage brush in a shadow box.

Can you post a photo of the right side of the barrel, the one not in the original photo?

Unless it was a special order, I don't recall S & W making a .22 Magnum barrel of this type. The 2" model 651 barrel was heavier, with a top rib and a separate front sight base, a wider blade and a red insert. Also, the 651 barrel would not have the barrel pin as seen in your photo.

I am thinking someone may have restamped a .22 LR barrel with the new caliber after converting the cylinder. The .22 LR Kit Gun was made with this 2" barrel style but the .22 Magnum Kit Gun (the model 51) was not.
