Hi...I am trying to ID a small BBQ joint
in Tulsa. It was recommended by a native,
and I went there once but it was closed.(sunday)
Now I cant recall the name or location.
I remember it is on the east side of a North/south street. I was on a street that
runs East/west and ends at the
N/S street. You just about drive straight
into the place going East. It is a small brick
building between two other buildings
with a very small parking lot.
Not far from the gunshow. I found a place
called Elmers on Google maps. Could that
be it?
Any other ideas?
thanks

Don't know about the one you are describing, but my son put me on to one in north Tulsa called Wilson's.

It don't get much better than this joint. Brisket is chopped, put on butcher paper with a white, sliced bread, BBQ beans and coleslaw as sides.

I noticed last time I was there they had the "no pack'n" symbol on the door, but I just disregard that. This is north Tulsa guys, a free fire zone. You had better be pack'n.

Likely Rib Crib on Harvard. About the 1600-1700 block, east side of the street. About half a mile as the crow flies from the fairgrounds, less than a mile driving. Good BBQ.

Elmer's is on Peoria, about 4150ish. West side of the street, four and a half miles from the fairgrounds.

Charlie, and anyone else interested, Wilson's has a new location on 11th St, just east of Harvard. Sweet potatoe fries and sweet potatoe pie. I guess I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow.

Geez, I just love all this T-Town talk, and it really makes me miss it! I grew up there, graduated Edison High School, got married and my husband moved me to the Great White North! I only return about once a year now.

If any of you natives ever saw the BB on the TU football teams jerseys and helmuts, those were my dads initials. Bill "Catbird" Babb. Huge TU fan. So much so, that Eric Strain from the Tulsa World wrote his obit.

Thanks for the Tulsa chat!
