Help ID Grips

I just picked up another Model 28. I got a screaming deal, the HP had a broken rear sight and synthetic grips. I had planned on replacing the grips. I took them off and found no brand just "S&W N frame". They're not flimsy but appear to be a celluloid type plastic. I'm thinking I'll replace the rear sight blade but keep the grips. I'm wondering if possibly older Herrett's?

Being "birlwood" (and I think that is the way they spelled it) polymer, there is no doubt that they are Rogers. What I find interesting is the lack of a medallion. The ones that I have seen (and the one I have) had a "Rogers" logo medallion and later a "Safariland" logo. I believe that Guy Hogue and Bill Rogers were contemporaries and Bill thought that Guy didn't get it quite right, so while they look very similar they do feel different - and of course the Roger's are two-piece while the Hogue is a monogrip.

I really like the Rogers grip, wish I could find some early Hogues like that.

I have owned and used Rogers grips for about 40 years. The earlier Rogers grips did not have the medallion. Rogers was bought out by Safariland who made the grips for a few years then did away with them. I wish they still made them. I usually buy every pair that I come across that will fit anything that I own. They were available in the glossy brown like the OP has and in flat black. Great grips that are virtually indestructible.
