Help identifying grip style

I recently bought a set of K-frame grips at a Gunshow, put them on my model 19 and wow they make a huge difference only problem is they are not marked at all and I’m wanting to buy the same type of grips for my other K and N frames. Any help identifying them would be great!

Can't be sure, but your grips look like Altamont S&W K/L Square Bateleur Super Blackwood.

I have a similar set with the medallions. I've kind of suspected they were Altamont as well.

Altamont grips have the frame size (J, K, L, N) routed in the back of the grip panel.

I know current/recent manufactured ones do. Does anyone know if that's always been the case? I've had the gray set pictured above for 20 years, and they were used when I got them. I'm not positive they're Altamont, but I've rather assumed they were. Here's the back side, with the frame size marked in ink.

I notice some splintering around the drilled holes...I'm guessing they are not Altamont......Ben

Altamont uses Dymondwood to make their wood grips. Dymondwood is a laminated birch wood that is resin-impregnated. I don't know of any other grip manufacturer that uses Dymondwood other than Altamont. In my opinion, all of the grips depicted in this thread thus far appear to be made of Dymondwood.

I have several older Altamonts & none of them are marked for frame size.

Perhaps back in the day, they thought owners knew what size their frames were?
