Help Identifying the pre war Nickle N frame from 1920's 44 special

A friend of mine is offering this and a 1952 S & W pre 10 that was an Austin PD issued revolver for one of my other Colt Revolvers.

Not familiar with prewar N frames but us nicked in 44 special with bone grips.

You have a 2nd Model .44 Special Target that was built before mid 1922. It was most likely a 6 1/2" and has been cut down.

If you provide the serial number, taken from the butt, we may be able to narrow down the date somewhat.
 
It appears to be a .44 HE target, 2nd model, made before 1922. The barrel has been cut to the current length and a front sight reinstalled. It appears to have been refinished in nickel, which was common years ago. The grips are not factory, so they don't add to the value.
