Hi all my righteous peoples,

Basically I have a 15-22. and a compliant communist state so I got a compliant 15-22 barebones. Decided to put a $60 or so NcStar lil red dot holo-sight wanna be in maybe May or June...Then I got the Magpul urge and went nuts. Here is a pic of the final product when I was "finished" at long last to my baby AKA my Bad Mother F!#$%r!!!

Basically all Magpul OD Green, mostly MOE-level equipment, and then for the Quad Rail I used all 4 XTM panel covers colors and what I did was simple: Dumped them all into a box, pulled at random, and did one side (Say the Left side.) Then I repeated exactly for the Right side. Then went to the Top. And let me say, I was taught how to figure odds and randoms and fluctuations and stuff and how to shuffle a damn box of XTM Panels, but wouldn't you know, after both sides I had like exactly 4 spaces left, 2 each in OD Green and Foliage Green so I quickly just alternated them on top. Bottom obviously has the AFG and at the time had a little S&W sling attachment hook (since moved).

I loved Loved LOVED this rifle and setup and I became/am Magpuls biggest mall ninja fan. I am not a hint of an operator or LEO or whatever but I am 29 years old, of course I love the military and our troops, I learned how to shoot with dad when I was like 5 years old and I enjoy tactical style firearms very very much, I love fine gear etc. It makes me happy and smile and have a good time and I firmly believe, why else do something (Like shoot for supposed fun/recreation/sport/etc.)

So all was well until I did the unthinkable and what I swore I would never do:

I ORDERD AN AR.
A REAL DEAL BIG KID AR--- 5.56 AR SON!!!

I was rewarding myself for surviving real real serious back surgery potentially life threatening/paralyzing/crippling/etc. at the age of 29, and I came through about perfectly so I saved for a month and bought a new, Limited Edition Bushmaster 14.5" HBar/M4-With the AK74 1.5" Muzzle Brake permanently attached... Plus the limited edition thing had a tri-railed handguard at 2 o'clock, 10 o'clock, and 9 o'clock and a tri-railed gas block. Then I spent $300+ on Magpul for this and promptly removed that HandGuard and Gas block rails lol. This one is all OD Green...and see the online company I bought from had great prices and packs of XTM Panels for like $5 bucks, so I bought 3 or 4... but couldn't even use them so I would up for fun, I don't know why after such trouble messing with the AR for hours, taking off the camo pattern from the 15-22 and making it SOLID OD Green, (save very front of the bottom rail, a black cover which will be removed for a light/laser/ballistic spetnaz miniature troop shooter-outer-in-case-of-emergency etc. etc.

So what do you all think?

I think it's fixed man. My computer is a real high end multi-media and gaming computer... and I was given a pretty awesome yet small camera to go with it LAST Christmas..It takes HUGE but sharp sharp sharp pictures and they're setup to be maximum quality or "resolution" or whatever you would call it, and display properly on my screen, but I guess when others see them it fills the whole display with barely visable HuUUUUGe portions of the pics.

unless you're running at 3000x4000 resolution theres no way that fits on anybodys monitor ;) i have an i5-750 quad core but that doesn't make the pictures any easier to see. that would require at least 2 side by side 1600x2000 monitors, just saying. the average resolution is something around 1200x1000. photobucket should give you some options to resize while uploading. hope thats helpful.

as to answer your question they both look good but it comes down to your personal preference really. some like camo front rails, others don't.

I personally liked the initial camo pattern you had. The all OD green makes it look like a "green army man" toy or something. That is my opinion though, go with what you like. Anyways, nice guns/setups. I went with the cheaper UTG rail covers (all black) instead of shelling out 30-40$ more for Magpul stuff. Money is tight when your still in college....

Bushmaster, excellent choice! For us, it was between that and the Stag Arms 2t 5.56. We went with the Stag, but definitely wouldn't kick a Bushmaster outta my gun safe!

And it sure is fun to pop some 223's, then load a clip of 5.56's and hear the cannon REALLY ROAR! Quite a difference for sure. Of course, you'll always get the dude who's like, "they're the same bullet, blah blah, I shoot them outta my Mini 14 (223 chambered) and it's fine. Yeah, whatever, it's fine till it blows up in yo face buh-rutha.

Have fun and feel lucky you got the best of both worlds like we do here. A real cannon....and somethin we can shoot when we're broke from shootin the cannon, haha.

I was of the opinion that the Magpul OD furniture was a bit too "puke" green, much too dark and not very drab. I like the foliage and earth colors from them much more and did the checkerboard camo on mine with those two colors in XTM panels and black everywhere else.

I think what's looking most off about your rifle is the tan sights and the green AFG. If you made the AFG tan or black it might look better, or maybe an OD/tan checker patterns instead of all OD.

Also, when you're taking pictures don't use the camera's flash. Try using a work light set further back to better fill the subject with light. The flash creates a lot of glare and color distortion. Solid color backgrounds that contrast with the subject (white in most cases) also helps the camera pick a spot to better focus when you're doing auto mode shots. Better camera means learning better techniques to make better photos ;)

I took the point about the total green XTM panels covering the entire quad rail, making it look like a plastic green soldier toy. So I re-did a camo pattern but a different randomized kinda. I have plenty of pics of my "original" which got many many "that's the best ever thing I've seen" types of comments (which I am sure almost everyone on this site has gotten plenty of them with all the famously fantastic tactical toys for boys and big boys... Lol!) So I can always go follow my old "pattern" scheme if I want again, tonight I came in from a long walk with the snugglepup and he assed out a little so I was bored, and figured why not take 20 mins.

Here it is now...BTW The MBUS are OD Green just like everything is OD Green on it except one pack each color of XTM panels (and 4 extra packs of OD Green I have tucked away at $5 per...).. and I'm not a photographer no mean to insult everyone, I'm sure others have better cameras and better computers and better guns than me. I got a pretty sweet one of everything, which is a pretty good set of parlaying and superfectas so ... Good enough for me.

Vooduu and Whoppo check out the new bad mother f@$%^R :

Here's as it came, limited edition series , believe special made in August... 14.5 Heavy Barrel, 1.5 AK74 Muzzle Brake, rest of it generally AR/M4-ish. Tri rail handguard, tri rail gas block, ...

I got about $300-$350?ish Magpul here that is almost all installed, I am making a trip to my new Gunsmith very soon with several projects and he's going to do some work on the new AR to get it exactly what I'm thinking, because I am new to them really, and I am not afraid to admit I haven't shot one since 99-2001 Army ROTC in College, really 99 I would say. But I got an awesome scheme of OD Green accessories/furniture for it and it's not nearly the same look as the 15-22, it's much more intimidating.

Oh BTW- I don't know if this info made it to this forum, but I was blessed with the nugget of knowledge from a gent on GlockTalk, The Aimpoint Micro R-1 is on sale from MidwayUSA for $299.99 --- THATS RIGHT... NOT $600 BUCKS OR MORE... $299.99

I ordered one today and some other stuff I had been planning for a while , threw a bunch of money at them, and I am probably just doing another $500 tomorrow, I'm ordering another R-1 and also need riflescope for $150-$200 for my standard stock 597... Sheesh all my money is gone but That Aimpoint deal is just NOT BEATABLE--- IT$ IN$ANE $ON !!!!!!!!

I am Soooo tAKticool !!!
