Help me out, I'm torn!

Do you really want to be the sort of man who has a nickel revolver? :D Are you going to put pearl grips on it, too?

I get what you are saying; and while I would never have pearl grips on a gun... you really can't argue the durability of Nickel's ability to resist wear marks, minor scratches, and combat human sweat, etc... I have one Nickel revolver and it's carried on my hip when doing yard work, hot Georgia outdoor activities; and my wife carries it in her purse in a holster of course but a woman's purse is a dangerous place, hahaha. She doesn't mean to be but she's rough on things a little bit. Nickel has it's uses besides being, dare I say it, "Pretty!

well, I'm way late to this party, but I'd lose the nickle gun ASAP. Show me an older nickled firearm that isn't freckled, discolored or, worst of all, flaking off. Blech.

The one pictured above is mine, and older than me, from the late 70's... Before I obtained it 3 years ago a Cobb County Police Officer carried it as his back up gun to his primary for years. While it does show minor nicks here and there... it's in really good shape. And the fact my wife hasn't been able to ruin the finish says a lot. You should see her Jeep Rubicon, hahaha!

I'm going to get a M29, just not sure what I'll end up with.

I’ve never even seen a nickel 29 with 8 3/8, so I’d keep it. Care to post a pic please ? The 27 is more common.

Here ya go CLASSIC12.

This is my 29-2 Nickel with 8 3/8" barrel

I’m with ModA: if you want the Model 27, buy it or trade something else. Your first-born, perhaps?

So weird to hear a fellow Texan say “get that smaller one...”

And Texas Star, everyone needs a big bore something! I certainly would choose the 44 for javelina over 357.

Not only smaller, but less flashy to boot. That’s downright un-Texan!
