I have a neighbor that sent his pinned and recessed, 6 inch, Model 19 back to S&W to replace a bulged barrel. Apparently, the revolver was fired with some sort of an obstruction in the barrel. Smith advises, they no longer have the barrels for K frame Magnums. Does anyone know where a replacement barrel might be found? Thanks for your help.

Every now and then Numrich's seems to have one.

Or, you could put a thread in the WTB classifieds here.

You can buy a new barrel for Brownells but it will not match. I've seen guns shoot with bulged barrels just depends how bad the bulge is. If you look around online you should be able to find a used barrel Gun Broker has one make sure the ( - ) number is the same. The 19 had a few - changes that would affect your search. -GL-

169999568 GB 2.5 incher,also noted a nickel four incher.Both are used.
Tough barrel to find as this model is known for cracked forcing cones.

Where is the bulge? Can it become a 5"-4"-3"-2 1/2" 19 with a little work?
