Good evening. Today in my garage sale adventures i picked up this vintage 19-3 Smith & Wesson 357 that appears to not have been rarely used and came with its original box. The barrel is 6"inches long and it has a wide trigger compared to my newer 686 ssr that i have. This has a nice feel to it and i paid $500 for it. He also had a 1911 Colt that he said was cowboyed and had stag grips and nice shiny chrome finish for $850 as well as a take down model 90 .22 winchester he wanted $550 for and was in very good condition with hardly any wear. I really have the revolver bug and was originally going to focus on saving for a Colt Python to add to my 357 collection but this one caught me off guard this morning and when he said it was almost never fired and he had the original box with it i figured i will put the Python on hold for a little while longer :) The serial number on the revolver and box is #9k196xx and the other markings on the side of the box say-- model 19-3, FIN BT, Barrel 6, Stock T, TH with a check mark, TT with a check mark, Ser. no. 9k196xx and a little sticker that has the number 33479 maybe the factory number? any info would be cool on this neat revolver. I have been around at local pawn shops and garage sales to fuel my desire for revolvers and let a nice vintage Dan Wesson in 45 Colt $750 new in box with extra barrels slip away from me about 6 months ago because i was just passing by and needed a few days to come up with the funds and a Colt Anaconda in 45 colt for $700 slip away because i was not prepared to spend that much money at the time and needed a day or two to come up with the funds day late and a dollar short :( but that is how we learn). That is one thing i learned (neat guns do not last long and you better have cash readily available before the guy behind you sneaks in and swipes it from under you :) almost everything I have seen at the local gun shops have been plastic semi autos that just do not do it for me. The only semi auto that i want is the Coonan 357 and maybe going back to the guy i purchased the model 19-3 from getting WWI 1911 Colt? but i kind of want to stay focused on the Python. Decisions decisions :D

Your photos are probably too large to be accepted by the site; if you know how to downsize them they will post, but I can't tell you how...sorry.

Your model 19 shipped in 1976. TT is the (wide) Target trigger, and TH the Target hammer. T for Target stocks. BT may be bright blue but this is where a photo would tell. The 33479 is probably an inventory number, from the factory or the dealer/distributor. A good buy at $500 with its original box.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to figure out how to change the photo size and get some photos up so you can see what it is i have.

Somehow only 1 photo could upload? I do not know how i did it :) but i got 1 photo so far for you to see what it is i have.
