Help please

Hi guys,
I just attempted to put a hogue pistol grip on my 15-22 and when I took the old grip off a little black pin that is about one quarter inch fell out and I need to know where it goes . I know where the springs go but not sure about the plastic pin. Would appreciate your help. I want to go shooting today, finally have a good day to shoot here in Kentucky.

It goes in the hole before the spring, on the gun side. There is one for each springs, one is black the other brass.

Most likely the pin is the one that fits on the end of the spring that is the detent for the safety switch.
